This September, We’re Celebrating Environmental Awareness Month
This September, to celebrate Environmental Awareness Month, we will embark on a journey to inspire more sustainable living and environmental stewardship among our colleagues. Here’s a look at the impactful initiatives we will introduce internally:
The Green Challenge
To promote a greener lifestyle, we will launch the Green Challenge. Colleagues will be encouraged to commit to sustainable living practices such as reducing plastic use, conserving water, and recycling more diligently. These small daily changes can collectively create significant environmental benefits. Every action counts, and together, the impact can be remarkable.
Sustainable Travel
In support of eco-friendly travel options, we will encourage our team to consider carpooling, using public transport, cycling, or walking to work. By reducing reliance on single-occupancy vehicles, we aim to significantly cut down on our carbon footprint. This initiative will foster a healthier planet, one commute at a time.
Energy Conservation Tips
Throughout the month, we will share easy-to-implement energy-saving tips for both the office and home. Simple actions like turning off lights and computers when not in use, utilising energy-efficient settings on devices, and maximising natural light can lead to substantial energy conservation. At home, colleagues will be encouraged to unplug electronics when not in use or switch to LED bulbs. These small adjustments will contribute to reducing overall energy consumption and promoting a more sustainable lifestyle.
Insightful Webinars
We will enhance our team’s environmental knowledge by organising engaging webinars. Lynne Magennis, Director of Frameworks and ESG at Daisy, will cover critical topics such as reducing consumption, sustainable practices, and practical tips for making a difference. These sessions are designed to be informative and inspiring, providing knowledge and tools to contribute to a more sustainable future.
Environmental Awareness Training
To deepen their understanding on environmentally positive practices, colleagues will participate in our Environmental Awareness Training course. This comprehensive training aims to enhance understanding of environmental issues and equip our team with actionable strategies for sustainability. Colleagues will learn about the latest developments and how to implement sustainable practices in daily life and work.
Community Clean-Up
We will organise clean-up events across our local office areas, providing opportunities for colleagues to volunteer their time to pick up litter in nearby parks or neighbourhoods. These clean-ups will not only improve our local environment but also foster a sense of community and shared responsibility for our surroundings.
