Windows 11 is the latest version of the Windows operating system developed by Microsoft. It was officially announced by Microsoft in June 2021. Windows 11 builds upon the foundation of Windows 10 and introduces several new features, design changes, and improvements.
As newer versions of Windows are released, Microsoft encourages users to upgrade to the latest supported version for security and performance reasons. Here are the minimum system requirements you will need to upgrade to Windows 11:
- Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster with at least 2 or more cores on a compatible 64-bit processor or System on a Chip (SoC).
- RAM: 4 gigabytes (GB) or more.
- Storage: 64 GB or more storage device.
- System Firmware: UEFI, Secure Boot capable.
- TPM: Trusted Platform Module (TPM) version 2.0.
- Graphics Card: DirectX 12 compatible graphics with a WDDM 2.0 driver.
- Display: A system with a high definition (720p) display that is greater than 9” diagonally, 8 bits per colour channel.
- Internet Connection: Internet connectivity is necessary to perform updates and to download and take advantage of some features.
- Other Requirements: Microsoft account and internet connectivity for setup of Windows 11 Home.
It’s worth noting that Windows 11 may receive updates, and the system requirements might change over time.
