Leading IT solutions provider Daisy Corporate Services has taken additional steps on an ambitious new environmental initiative with the installation of a large number of solar panels.
By introducing 1,078 solar panels across the roof of their Nelson head office, combined with a new Renewable Energy Guarantee of Origin (REGO)-backed 100% renewable energy contract, Daisy is forecast to slash their Greenhouse Gas Emissions by an estimated 2,500 tonnes of CO2e per year. To put this accomplishment into perspective, this will have the equivalent environmental benefit of planting an astounding 125,000 trees.
Executed in collaboration with their trusted partner Low Carbon Energy, the cutting-edge 224 kW solar PV (photovoltaic) system is projected to generate an impressive 168,000 kWh of energy annually.
Lynne Magennis, Head of Frameworks and ESG at Daisy Corporate Services said: “The strategic placement of these solar panels not only aligns with our commitment to a greener future, but also establishes a reliable and renewable energy source for the business.”
The REGO-backed 100% renewable energy contract Daisy has signed underscores the company’s dedication to holding itself accountable for its ESG commitments. Looking further than infrastructure developments, this commitment ensures that their actions have measurable positive effects.
“We remain steadfast in our pursuit of sustainable business practices, setting an example for the industry by taking tangible and quantifiable steps towards a more environmentally conscious future. This forms only a small part of our wider plans to ensure we have a positive impact on the environment, the communities we serve and the way we do business.”
