National Apprenticeship Week 2024
As part of our National Apprenticeship Week 2024 celebrations, Kate Slater Early Careers Manager and Charlie Cheeseman Service Operations Manager visited Woodkirk Academy in Wakefield, to deliver an assembly to the year 8 students. This was based around who Daisy are, what we do and the various different career opportunities available. The assembly was really well received, and the students also heard from Charlie, who has recently passed his Infrastructure Technician apprenticeship with a Distinction grade!
Daisy and Kirklees College Live Project
In 2022, we partnered with Kirklees College in Huddersfield to enable their BTEC Computing students the opportunity of completing a live work experience project. The students were tasked with creating a website design, for a choice of fictitious small local businesses. Our Early Careers Manager Kate Slater launched the project with the students, and then they spent 3 months building their creations. Daisy Web Design & Development Manager Sukhvir Singh and Junior Digital Marketer Faizan Ahmed offered the students feedback on their creations, and real industry tips on how to further improve their designs.
By engaging in this live project the students were able to tick off their work experience hours, and gain some brilliant real world guidance from our very own experts
Work projects like these add such value for our future stars; giving these students a valued insight into real life industry. It builds relationships with our local education providers- which in turn builds us a future talent pipeline.

Girlguiding – Magic & Mayhem
Daisy is proud to have partnered with Girlguiding, to inspire the next generation of girls in STEM careers. In June 2023, a team of Daisy volunteers attended Girlguiding’s four Magic & Mayhem events, across the UK. Each venue welcomed around 600 Rainbows and Brownies and our volunteers hosted a variety of activities based around the theme of recycling.
Daisy sponsor the Rainbows Recycle Badge, and this event tied in perfectly with our goal of raising awareness of initiatives to help REDUCE REUSE and RECYCLE. This information in turn will help the Rainbows members make progress towards earning their badge.
Across the four venues we had a variety of activities, which included sorting rubbish into recycling robots, making eco-bird feeders, creating superheroes and sea creatures from toilet roll inners, obstacle courses, puzzles, wordsearches and MORE!
Park High School Colne Industry Insight Day
To mark National Careers Week and International Women’s Day in March 2023, we invited a group of students from a local high school into our Nelson head office to experience an industry insight day. We welcomed 13 year 8 females from Park High School, Colne along with their teacher Mr Panaro. They had a wonderful morning learning more about Daisy; who we are and what we do. They also had the opportunity to shadow some of our key departments, before enjoying some delicious cake! It was a fantastic day all round, and feedback from the students was that it had been exceptionally useful to visit a real-life working environment.
Daisy Apprenticeship and Graduate Awards 2023

The evening was a spectacular celebration of our wonderful apprentices and graduates and the contribution they make to our business, as well as the line managers who support them. Our CEO Neil Thompson and COO Lyndsey Charlton crowned 5 winners, before presenting them with their £1000 cash prize. We then enjoyed some wonderful street food, drinks and plenty of laughter!
